The Inglorious M.O.B.is a Nigerian rapper,songwriter and producer from Kogi state but born and raised in Port Harcourt City, Nigeria. He began his journey into Hip-Hop music at the age of eight in the late 2000s through his older brother who solely played American 90’s Hip-Hop and he developed an instinctive interest for poetry, rhymes and melodies. In High School he began rapping for friends and recording freestyles,then eventually creating mixtapes that in turn built him a strong Nigerian Hip-hop head cult-following “theMOB” in Obafemi Awolowo University. In his words:“…I’m just trying to document my perspective on my personal challenges and the things I see around me through my music and I hope that inspires people.” M.O.B has released three mixtapes two EPs multiple singles and just put out his debut album “The Inglorious”
FUN FACTS:
1. Outside of Hip-Hop my main interests include Football (United fan sadly), Anime, Data Science and Tech in general
2. I’m a graduate of Electronic and Electrical Engineering at Obafemi Awolowo University
3. When I first started rapping I used to call myself T-Black
4.Changed from T-Black to M.O.B which are just my initials – Motolani Ojo-Bello got inspiration for this from my elder brother. His friends used to call him S.O.B.. I talk about The Inglorious bit on my album
5. Biggest Influences are Jay-Z, The Notorious B.I.G, Kendrick Lamar, Mos Def and J. Cole. Those would probably be my top 5 favourite rappers of all time as well.
6. Favourite artistes right now though are Joey Badass, Isaiah Rashad and Vince Staples
7. When I’m not listening to Hip-Hop I listen to Rock, Jazz, Afro-Beats or whatever Obongjayar makes
8. Member of wetalksound the biggest creative community in Nigeria
9. I’m a bit of a gamer. Spend way too much time playing Football Manager
10. One Piece is better than your favourite anime.
